Traveling Illini was founded by sophomore Jacob Birg, along with Namir Thobani, Sepehr Salehi, and Drake Southwell at the University of Illinois. The club became a safe, reliable, and affordable way for the University of Illinois's diverse student body to meet, socialize, and explore together.

Ever since, our mission has been to provide safe, accessible, and affordable travel opportunities to all University of Illinois students. Since our inception, Traveling Illini has become one of the largest student-run organizations at UIUC and is among the nation's premier student travel organizations.
